PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Mild Steel (MS) plates are widely used in various construction, engineering, and fabrication projects due to their excellent properties and versatility. These plates are made from low carbon steel, offering good weldability, machinability, and high strength. Their durability and cost-effectiveness make them an ideal choice for numerous applications.

Technical Features

Typically, mild steel contains approximately 0.05% to 0.25% carbon, 0.4% to 0.7% manganese, and traces of other elements like silicon, phosphorus, and sulfur.

Mild steel plates exhibit a tensile strength ranging from 370 to 700 MPa, making them suitable for a variety of structural applications.

Yield strength for mild steel plates generally ranges from 250 to 450 MPa, providing a balance between ductility and strength.

Mild steel plates have a good elongation capacity, typically around 20-25%, which allows them to withstand significant deformation before fracturing.

The hardness of mild steel plates varies depending on the carbon content but generally falls within the range of 120-180 HB (Brinell hardness).

Due to their low carbon content, mild steel plates offer excellent weldability, making them easy to join without the risk of cracking.

Mild steel plates can be easily machined, drilled, and cut, making them ideal for fabrication and manufacturing processes.

While mild steel plates are susceptible to rust when exposed to moisture, they can be coated or galvanized to improve their corrosion resistance.

Available in various surface finishes, such as hot rolled, cold rolled, and galvanized, to meet specific requirements of different applications.
